Rakuten Group, Inc. (楽天グループ株式会社) is Japanese electronic commerce and online retailing company based in Tokyo, one of the largest e-commerce sites in Japan.

Together with the Eat Creative team, we created a unique illustration style for Rakuten’s Rakuten Today blog. The illustrations had to turn complex technology-related concepts into easy-to-understand visuals while staying true to Rakuten’s brand values.

The result was a friendly and effective illustration system that could make the illustrations look cohesive when placed together but look different enough to engage the readers without boring them.
